Special Thanks

For the longest time, I wanted to study abroad.  At first, I did not know exactly where or when, nor how I was ever going to afford it, but it was a dream of mine.  It still feels so surreal that I will finally be living my dream in just a few months, but I could not have done it on my own.  For years, the Freeman scholarship has been supporting Shidler students planning to study abroad in Asian universities.  I am so blessed to be one of the Spring 2019 Freeman scholars, because it has opened up so many more opportunities.

Mr. Freeman and foundation, thank you so much for your generosity and heart for students who want to gain a bigger perspective of the world.  I am beyond grateful to finally be able to follow something that has been so special to me for so long.  I appreciate your words of encouragement and look forward to making new memories.

Also special thanks to my supportive family and to my business academic advisor Rikki Mitsunaga and my Manoa International Exchange advisor Kathy Tran for guiding me in the right direction and helping me get to where I am today.  I cannot wait to share all my experiences with everyone and to come back as a stronger and wiser individual.
