Flight Booking: Experience & Tips

Hopper is a great app that I downloaded to make the process of booking my flight a lot easier. This was my first time using it and I would recommend it for anyone who is planning to travel and needs a little extra help. It is free to use and it helped me:

track flight prices (and notified me when would be the best time to buy)
compare one way and round trip flights
find nearby dates that would be cheaper to fly
compare different airline deals

In the end...

I chose a roundtrip flight with United Airlines, which I booked late October (two months before I leave).

Why roundtrip?

A lot of people told me to book a one way ticket because then I'd have the flexibility to choose when I wanted to return. Honestly, it was a really difficult decision, but ultimately, I did what I felt comfortable with. I did not want to worry about having to book my flight back when I was on my trip, and it was cheaper for me to book roundtrip. I also gave myself almost two weeks after my finals so I would have enough time to travel after my semester was over.

Keep in mind that if you are unsure, then maybe roundtrip might not be the best option, because it will cost more if you decide to change your returning date. I did what I thought was best for my situation, but listen to everyone's advice, and know what your priorities are, whether it be flexibility, low costs, or security.
